Porsche Dealer Fund

OBJECTIVE:

To support Porsche develop a framework for selecting NGO partners in China, create a fund structure that will be leveraged by dealers to execute their CSR programs through, and support the ongoing yearly fund management, partner onboarding, and impact assessment

PROGRAM:

  • Work with Porsche China team to develop a dealership fund that will support China-wide programs.
  • Developed committee structure, application and assessment processes, and toolkits used by dealerships to develop partnerships
  • Work with Communications team, and committee, to develop clear understanding, and alignment, of partnership goals and options
  • Support selection committee meetings and onboarding of selected partners

IMPACT:

  • Attracted more than 75 Dealers submissions
  • 14 projects covering environmental, rural education, STEM education, and poverty alleviation have been awarded funding
  • 30,000 individual beneficiaries impacted and 400MU of trees planted to date

Target Connected Family Program

OBJECTIVE:

To support Target’s effort to enhance the lives of the more than 3 million workers in its supply chain, and their left behind children, began looking for a technological solution with the goal to improve connections between parents and their left behind children.

PROGRAM:

  • Created & executed a 24 hour hackathon focused on left behind children.
  • Created a working technical development plan and product specification
  • Identified partners whose populations would benefit from the application
  • Work with APP development team to finalize product and create content for APP modules
  • Support the launch, distribution strategy, and developed train-the-trainer program materials
  • Onboarded more than 15 content providers and 5 NGOs onto the platform
  • Maintain program management, technical development and reporting role

IMPACT:

  • More than 3000 smart watches distributed, and 2500 parents trained to use APP
  • More than 25,000 family members impacted
  • More than 75,000 indirect family members, factory laborers, and community members engaged
  • After 3 months in program, parents report feeling closer to children, are less stressed at factories, and are more likely to remain employed by factory

Adidas Sustainability Strategy

OBJECTIVE:

The goal of this project was be to support adidas China with the development and deployment of a China-centric sustainability and CSR strategy.

A strategy that will seek to strengthen the core principals, and programs, of adidas’s global 2025 sustainability strategy through the localization of strategy, programs, partners, and stakeholder engagements.

PROGRAM:

  • Assessed the current adidas’s current state of play in China, and identify areas of strategic opportunity to develop and deploy programs, partnerships, and process improvements.
  • Developed a China-centric strategy that is aligned with global strategy, and programs, but addresses local issues, seeks local partnerships, is scalable, and will open doors for higher levels of stakeholder engagement
  • Developed program structures and partnerships that will support the goals of adidas’s China-centric strategy
  • Took programs to scale through investments in process, product, and partnerships

Kohler Hackathon

OBJECTIVE:

Developed and executed a 24 hour hackathon focused on solving sanitation issues for the disconnected toilet in China, with the goal to research and design new functionality and user experiences for different persona groups who need and use off-grid toilets in China.

PROGRAM:

  • Recruited teams from Tongji University, East China University of Science & Technology, Shanghai Jiaotong, University of Science and Technology of China, Shanghai Institute of Visual Art, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, and NYU Shanghai.
  • Provided teams support with Kohler mentors, external mentors, and speakers from frog design, WeCare WC, and Beijing Science & Technology University.

IMPACT:

  • Engaged more than 50 students from leading Chinese universities and graduate schools
  • 8 new product designs developed and presented

ILO Future of Labor Report

Developed deep insight into the textile and electronics industry’s within the China & ASEAN, the thoughts and motivations of many top decision makers, and future movements within the industry.

Gave detailed analysis and advice to the ILO in order to understanding the macro- and micro-trends and provided information to policy makers to inform decision making. Findings were incorporated into a global report on the future of labour 2025.


Starbucks CSR Training

  • Provided the development of foundation strategy for China programming.
  • Developed and conducted one-day intensive training session for Greater China CSR Team.
  • Led managers in training about project and partner development, employee engagement, on-site management and impact assessment and reporting.
  • Developed, and managed, on-site service project for participants to help put theory to practice

Unilever Sustainable Ambassador Training

OBJECTIVE:

Create future leaders who embody and drive a company wide mindset in line with the company’s current leadership

PROGRAM

  • Drive awareness of key social and environmental challenges to existing economic models.
  • Increase capacity of middle and senior managers to understand and align themselves with strategic concerns and initiatives faced
  • Provide tools that are being deployed by leaders to recognize risk, engage stakeholders, and drive solutions to the issues faced through the business model.

IMPACT:

  • Created a three year series of events, workshops, and projects to help students understand sustainability, the Unilever’s sustainability strategy, and how to be champions of the strategy within the firm.
  • Provided opportunities for students to develop programs that would increase the sustainability of their business unit’s people, products, and processes.

Covestro Value Chain Summit

PROGRAM:

  • Provided participants the opportunity to gain tangible insights on issues that will be faced by the industry, and the role of innovation to provide solutions.
  • Groups worked through 5 real challenges in the industry, each provided by one of the external stakeholders.
  • Engaged 15 internal managers and 25 external stakeholders (clients, vendors, and academic)

IMPACT:

  • Tangible collaboration projects for each of the challenges presented to take forward by Covestro with external stakeholders.
  • Internal cooperation opportunities formed across different departments within Covestro on sustainability.
  • Identified several commercial opportunities between Covestro and participant groups.

Group Rocher Supplier Engagement Workshop

THE CHALLENGE:

As part of a pilot program to reduce regulatory risk and improve the transparency and quality processes of supply chains, Collective Responsibility were tasked to facilitate a series of supplier workshops for the client. The objectives were to deliver a strategy that would insure and verify raw material compliance on tier 2 factories, and to design a traceability system allowing the client to segregate non-compliant lots, and be able to link a raw material batch to a finished product

PROGRAM:

  • Half-day preparation session with Groupe Rocher team to curate agenda, questions and expected outcomes.
  • Conducted 2 days of parallel sessions between Suppliers and Groupe Rocher
  • Collected, combined and structured the outcomes from parallel workshop sessions into final bi-lingual report

OUTCOMES & IMPACT:

  • Developed a system to evaluate the differing levels of current compliance and traceability of suppliers.
  • Identified opportunities and road-maps for all suppliers to improve their raw materials compliance and traceability systems.
  • Increased awareness for both the client and Suppliers of the risks of non-compliance and the need to move beyond

Abbott Foundation Launch

PROGRAM:

  • Developed internal framework to attract, train, and retain employees in volunteerism.
  • Matched internal engagement to a framework that engaged, assessed and developed potential partner organizations.
  • Assisted in the development and execution of employee training programs and provided post-event analysis.

IMPACT:

  • Successfully localized program materials from Global Foundation into China Market.
  • Established a partnership with a leading Chinese NGO.
  • Program grew from 3 city pilots to 50 Chinese cities within 3 years.
  • Program success led to local business units replacing Abbott Foundation’s investment.

Lloyd's Lunch & Learns

Goal of Lunch & Learn sessions was be to help participants understand sustainability related local conditions, challenges, and opportunities, so that alignment between global goals and local strategy can be developed.

PROGRAM:

  • Developed series of lunch & learn events to elevate awareness of environmental & social issues
  • Events were aligned to 2030 sustainability strategy & local challenges faced by company/ employees
  • Goal to increase employee alignment on issues, and activation in the workplace through change in daily habits,

IMPACT:

  • Invited external speakers to campus
  • Engaged 300+ Employees

Interface Construction Waste Management

PROGRAM:

  • Researched the informal and formal waste management systems of construction waste in Shanghai to better understand material flows, and opportunities for material capture.
  • Executed through on the ground research, material flow analysis and high level stakeholder interviews.
